We’re calling this home an “Artist’s Retreat,” because it truly is. One of the owners is an award-winning local artist … and this is her retreat and her inspiration! She’s left behind gorgeous artwork and great vibes for vacationing visitors!

This vacation home has been completely updated from top to bottom, professionally furnished and has gorgeous views from every window. It has two bedrooms and two baths, plus an office/den with sofa-bed and can sleep up to six. And it’s located in Indian Hills, a quiet gated community nestled in the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains in South Palm Desert.

The main living space is furnished with comfortable leather reclining sofa and chairs, a large smart TV with Spectrum cable channels, a fire and ice gas fireplace, and a seating area for one arranged by picture windows showcasing gorgeous mountain views. This is a great spot for your morning coffee! The dining area has seating for six and there is additional pub seating for three at the kitchen island.

The kitchen is a chef’s dream. The owners love to cook, and it shows in this beautiful, well-equipped kitchen with custom cabinets, quartz countertops, a huge center island, high-end stainless appliances and gas range. The cabinets are filled with all you need to prepare family meals or set a beautiful table for entertaining. And for the “barista,” in addition to a standard drip coffee maker, there is a Breville espresso machine with bean grinder! If you love to cook or entertain, this home is ideal.

The living space continues outside through sliding glass doors to a large patio that provides perfect indoor/outdoor living and has the most stunning panoramic mountain views and spectacular sunrises. The patio is furnished with a gas BBQ grill, outdoor living room set, dining table for four and a separate seating area overlooking a greenbelt and pool.

Originally a three-bedroom condo, one room has been converted to a multi-purpose room with desk and full computer, large monitor scanner and printer. A perfect space for those on a working holiday or to connect to your laptop for home office work, zoom calls or streaming. There is also a big screen “smart” TV and sofa bed, making this room an office, den and bedroom. And yes, there is a door that can be closed for privacy.

The spacious primary suite has been furnished with a king size bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress, quality bedding, mounted “smart” TV with Spectrum cable channels, ceiling fan and walk-in closet. The en-suite has his and hers vanities and a luxurious walk-in shower with a s stationary and hand-held shower head. The guest bedroom has been furnished with a queen size bed, mounted “smart” TV, ceiling fan and has direct access to the hallway guest bathroom. The guest bathroom has a combination shower/tub.

This home has been fully updated throughout and is decorator furnished. There are multiple windows letting in lots of sunshine, natural light and gorgeous mountain views! There is Travertine flooring in the main living spaces and bathrooms, and plush carpet in the bedrooms and office/den. The laundry has been moved into the garage to allow more interior storage space, and there is also purified water throughout the house and a Tesla charging station in the garage. The two-car garage is sizable but may not hold two large size vehicles. There is limited guest parking for overnight guests, so please discuss the number of cars in your party with the reservationist prior to booking. This home does not have landlines but may consider adding phones with free U.S. and Canada calling with bookings of four months or more. Please inquire first.

Location – Location – Location … looking at the map on this listing you will see how close it is to hiking trails and the community itself is perfect for walking and can even be a bit challenging with its rolling hills and greenbelts. There are six pools with spas spread throughout the community and during the winter, they alternate from year to year, which will be heated. (Please contact us for information on which pools are heated during your stay) There are also two tennis courts and two pickle ball courts … first come-first served, and there are players you can join! Just say hello … the community is very welcoming. If you’re looking for quiet relaxation, this is a perfect spot for you!

Indian Hills is a short 5-minute drive to El Paseo, shopping, dining, and entertainment and right in the very heart of the desert. You are also just 5 minutes from The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens … and on your way up HWY 74 to Lookout Point and Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains.

Please, No Smoking & No Pets! Note: the owners have a cat that they occasionally will bring to this vacation home. Professional cleaning is done prior to rental occupancy.

Tenant parking in the garage only and any short-term visitors should use the designated parking spots located by and across from the condo garage. Any visitors staying longer than two days will need to be reported to the HOA for security reasons and should park their car in the garage. Tenant vehicles with commercial advertising must be parked inside the garage. Also, large vans such as Mercedes Sprinter, campers and RVs are not permitted. As in most gated communities, there are strict traffic rules and infractions may be subject to fines.

SPECIAL NOTE: When planning your vacation, please take into consideration that there will be reseeding of golf courses and grassy areas in the desert during the months of September, October, and November. This means golf course closures, often for a month. If golf is part of your vacation, you will want to remember to ask about course closures. We will do our best to find out the closure dates or put you in touch with the golf club you are interested in, however, we are not affiliated with any of the golf courses and reseeding could be expedited or delayed due to weather or various reasons beyond our control. Neither the property owner or Vacation Rentals of the Desert can be held responsible for the closure of golf courses during your stay due to reseeding or other closures beyond our control.
